Artist's Biography & Works For Sale

Colin Burns was born in 1944 in a Norfolk seaside town. He showed a keen interest in art at a very young age and won a few art prizes in school. He gained inspiration for his paintings from the natural world he saw around him, the flora and fauna of East Anglia. At age sixteen he left school and started work as an accountant, however he still pursued with his first love of painting in his spare time.

His landscapes began attracting local buyers and eventually caught the eye of a well-known art dealer – Ivor Hook who later introduced Burns to a London Gallery specialising in wildlife by leading artists that he got his big break. He held his first exhibition in 1977 featuring the East Anglian countryside and its birdlife and has gone on to have around seven one man exhibitions over the past thirty years in London.

He has become a highly collectable artist and many of his works have been reproduced as greeting cards and prints.
