Artist's Biography & Works For Sale

Edgar Hunt was one of the most accomplished animal, bird and fruit painters of his time. He is best known for farm yard scenes and was greatly influenced by two artists, his father Charles (1829-1900) and also his friend John Frederick Herring Jnr. (1820-1907).

Hunt began painting early in his life and liked to spend most of his time in farmyard surroundings painting domestic poultry. His style was very meticulous and his work is almost instantly recognisable. Edgar was somewhat withdrawn and did not seek the limelight and as such he very rarely exhibited his work. However, he did exhibit at the Royal Society of Artists and also at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool.

The work of Edgar Hunt is now highly collectable.
