Harold Clayton was born in London in 1896. He began his artistic training in Hackney and later on he studied graphic design and commercial art at Hornsey College of Art (aka Hornsey School of Art). During his life time, Clayton painted various subjects but it was for his still life flower paintings, executed in the most stunning and intense realism that he became well known, along with his contemporaries Cecil Kennedy and Gerald Cooper.
Harold Clayton exhibited at the Royal Academy.
