Pierre Louis Detrier was born in Vougecourt (Haute-Savoie) on the 25th of June 1922. He studied under the French Sculptor Paul Joseph Raymond Gayrard (1807-1855). Detrier started exhibiting in the salon from 1866 to 1886 and some of the submitted works in bronze included ‘Ulysse reconnu par Penelope’, ‘L’innocence et l’Amittie’, ‘Le Caprice, bas relief’, ‘Amour Maternel’, ‘Jeune Fille au Nid, ‘Les Gaudes’, ‘Grand Souer’ and ‘Amateur Louis XVI’.
During his career, Detrier collaborated with others including the founder Raingo Frere and the famous sculptor Emile Hébert (1828-1893). Detrier’s works are in important private and public collections such as the Langres Museum, in the Champagne-Ardenne.
